I have a very ambitious and very exciting research project I am just starting to undertake. I really think it's a guaranteed top pub. A solid pub at the very least. Maybe even several papers worth.
Here is my problem - I reached out to several people to preliminary discuss my idea. A couple people at my current MRM school. A couple people at a HRM I randomly reached out to, who work in this specific field. A couple people at my old LRM school. A couple people I know at a government agency.
I was playing the numbers game - I was expecting almost every of these leads to fizzle out. But I guess my idea really is good - because now that I have a more concrete idea and path forward, everyone I contacted is clamoring to get on as a co-author. I'm not kidding. Literally 7 people want in on this.
What is the most polite/diplomatic way for me to reject most of them? I have no tact and could use the advice.
