Economist on "If I don't make tenure, can I come to the department dressed as a pirate?"

Obviously only until the end of my contract (I'm not some sort of weirdo).

The rough idea is that as one dream dies, perhaps another might come to life.

Anyone tried this before? Suggestions on outfits, accessories, etc. most welcome.
